Lil Yachty Reveals Release Date for ‘Lil Boat 2′

Lil Yachty took to social media to reveal that Lil Boat 2—the sequel to his debut 2016 mixtape—is dropping on March 9. He accompanied the reveal with what’s likely the album cover, which features our nautical hero giving a serious stare as he’s standing in a body of water.

Yachty has been teasing that Lil Boat 2 was “coming soon” since last August. A New York Times piece on Lil Yachty’s label, Quality Control, projected December as the project’s release date, but the Boat remained docked as the month came and went. However, Lil Boat 2’s release became imminent when Yachty said that the project was done during an Instagram Live session in early January.

In name, Lil Boat 2 has plenty to live up to, as the original debut mixtape featured “1 Night,” which is still Lil Yachty’s biggest hit. Lil Boat also included the “Minnesota” remix featuring Quavo, Skippa Da Flippa, and Young Thug.
